Creative Writing Summer Camp
PLEASE NOTE: Due to numerous family commitments, summer camps will not run in 2023. I apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause. Please check back for summer camp options in 2024. Happy summer!
~ Creative Writing Camp meets from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, for 3, 4, or 5 weekdays during camp week. Each camp program focuses on one genre of storytelling such as detective stories, fairy tales, or fantasy writing. Camps are held in late June and July. Writing takes place during camp, workshop-style, with additional writing outside of camp encouraged but not required.
Each day highlights one important aspect of story writing:
Day 1: Create Your Character
Day 2: Plan Your Plot
Day 3: Develop Your Dialogue
Day 4: Tie It All Together
Day 5: Share Your Story
Ages 9-15
Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Monday – Friday, No Summer camps for 2022. See you in September!
Location: Ringwood, NJ, on the patio, weather permitting
Camp Topics:
- Detective Stories
- Fairytales, Folklore, & Science Fiction
Camp Fee: $175 There is a 5-student minimum to hold each event. Payment is due in advance at the time of registration.
Workshops
~Pop-Up Workshops may be offered at various times throughout the year. They may be offered to children, teens, or adults.
These workshops are 2-hour, one-day events.
Topics may include poetry, creative writing, or basic writing skills.
For Teens and Adults:
~Writer’s Night Out ~ Get creative with other aspiring writers in a casual, welcoming environment. Writer’s Night Out Workshops may focus on poetry or story writing. These workshops are held in person at my home, your home, my venue, or your venue. Contact Julia to make arrangements.
~Write for Work ~ Focus on your communication skills for more effective, efficient workplace writing. These workshops are held in the evening on ZOOM.
